Powders
Free-flowing or cohesive powders may use auger or other controlled dosing. Dust, bulk density, aeration and cleaning affect the complete configuration.

Bags and sachets from reel-fed film
Temporary VFFS equipment for compatible powders, granules, pieces, liquids or pastes—matched to the product, dosing method, film, bag dimensions and seal.
Check form fill seal availabilityQuick answer
Potentially. A vertical form fill seal machine forms a bag from reel-fed film, receives a measured dose and seals the pack. A temporary machine may support a product trial, new contract, seasonal line or capacity project, but it must be compatible with both the product and the proposed film and bag format.
The bagger and dosing system should be considered together. Product behaviour, target weight or volume and acceptable giveaway influence whether an auger, volumetric, weigh or pump-fed route is appropriate.
Product routes
Free-flowing or cohesive powders may use auger or other controlled dosing. Dust, bulk density, aeration and cleaning affect the complete configuration.
Volumetric or weigh dosing may suit compatible granules and discrete products. Piece size, fragility, stickiness and target accuracy determine the route.
Pump-fed sachet or bag applications need product, temperature, viscosity, cut-off and seal-area control to be tested with the intended pack material.
Application matching
The product, dosing system, film and bag geometry must operate as one process.
| Production detail | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Product behaviour | Flow, dust, stickiness, fragility, temperature and particle size influence dosing, contact parts and cleaning. |
| Dose | Target weight or volume, tolerance and output determine the practical feeder and control method. |
| Bag dimensions | Width, length, headspace and fill volume need a compatible forming set and sealing envelope. |
| Film | Reel width, laminate structure, sealing temperature, friction and registration marks affect machine set-up. |
| Finished seal | Product contamination, wrinkles, trapped air and dwell time can compromise seal appearance or integrity. |
| Extra functions | Date coding, gas flushing, perforation, tear notches, conveyors and checkweighing may change the configuration. |
Trial before production
Bag dimensions alone do not prove a form fill seal application. Representative product and film trials can expose feeding, static, dust, dose repeatability, seal contamination or pack-presentation issues before the hire reaches site.
For powder products, share a safety data sheet and cleaning expectations. For food applications, include allergen and hygiene requirements so the proposed route can be assessed.

Form fill seal questions
It forms packaging from a roll of film, doses the product into the formed pack and creates the final seals. Vertical form fill seal is often shortened to VFFS.
Potentially. Powder flow, dust, bulk density, target dose, accuracy, hygiene and cleaning all need review. The powder dosing system is as important as the bagger.
Only if the film width, structure, seal characteristics, friction, registration and reel dimensions suit the proposed machine and bag. A representative reel should be tested.
Request a VFFS review
Representative samples and a proposed pack specification make the review more useful.
